  • What is plasma and plasma technology?
There are 4 states of matter. Solid, liquid, gas and plasma. Plasma energy is created when a gas passes through an electromagnetic field to create ionised gas particles in the air between the device tip and the skin. The plasma elite hand-piece produces a tiny plasma flash by inonising the gas to form plasma, which creates a small electrical arc from the probe to the skin in a micro-millimeter sized point. The plasma produces an energy, which turns the skin to a gaseous state and vaporizes in the immediate vicinity of the skin, causing the tissue to contract. This process is called sublimation. When the skin is treated via sublimation, the elastic fibres shrink. This tightens and retracts the skin. The results of this treatment are similar to those of surgery but without the scarring or lengthy downtime. It is important to note that the plasma treatment does not damage the surrounding skin.
  • What areas can be treated?
The Plasma Elite II can effectively tighten loose skin and wrinkles, as well as improve overall skin texture and elasticity. The Plasma Pen can also be used for: Excess Eye Bags & Eyelids Crows's Feet Lines around Lips Crepey Neck & Décolletage Around the ears to tighten and lift Cheeks Stretched excess tummy skin
  • What can be removed or flattened?
Skin Tags Millia Warts Moles (with Doctors approval)
  • Is there any downtime?
It completely depends on the client and the are treated and the natural rate of recovery. It is normal for sensitvie areas, such as eyelids to become swollen and we would recommend not applying makeup. Some areas weep slightly after treatment; this is simply plasma and is quite natural. As the spots begin to heal they naturally turn into crusts and flake off.
  • What is the after care?
Aftercare is an essential part of any treatment. After a plasma treatment the body goes through the same process when healing, as a typical wound healing routine. Its covered in 3 main steps: Inflammation - this is the body's natural response to trauma. Profileration - this is where the wound starts to rebuild new, healthy, granular tissue. Maturation (also know as remodeling) - this is the final stage after the wound has healed. Maturation starts when the wound looks healed so its important to keep your aftercare routine going.
  • What aftercare products would you recommend?
Plasma Care provides 3 key aftercare products. Each Plasma Care product is manufactured in the UK and specially formulated for sensitive skin. Plasma Care Cleansing Solution This is a solution to be used regularly to make sure the area is clean and free from bacteria. Plasma Care Healing Balm This reduces itching and irritation, it is a mild anaesthetic and a product that protects against infection and restores the skins natural balance whilst aiding dry healing. Protect moisturiser with SPF 50 A highly effective broad spectrum sunscreen, hypoallergenic and not tested on animals. Specifically tested to protect the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays, which is essential after a plasma treatment when your skin is vulnerable.
  • How many treatments will a client require?
We recommend a full and comprehensive consultsation prior to treatment, however the number of treatments required can not always be determine prior to treatment. Clients may require multiple treatments to achieve desired results. The elasticity of the skin and the healing process are client dependent, so results will vary by the individual.
